After that we grabbed some lunch and headed to the Tower of London. It was raining so the typical tour was a bit different but still fun. We also had great views of the Tower Bridge complete with Olympic rings. Once we saw all there was to see at the Tower of London we walked across the bridge and explored a bit of the Southbank. We walked down to London Bridge and got on the Tube to Green Park.
We walked through Green Park over to Buckingham Palace. It was raining pretty hard by then but we toughed it out and took some pictures. After the palace we walked by Wellington Arch and headed back to the flat on the Tube.
We researched some dinner places & found a top rated Italian place in Soho (a few blocks from where we were staying). We got a bit lost finding it but got to explore a part of the city we would have missed otherwise. We were lucky to get in without reservations & the food was amazing. We walked through Picadilly Circus and Leicester Square on the way back to the flat.

This is a really neat juxtaposition of old and new - the wall on the far left of the picture is part of the original Roman wall of the city from first century BC

We saw lots of the preparations for the Olympics and there were more and more people in the city each day
More "famous" by name but not that exciting
