Pumpkins and the nursery

Following Oma's birthday celebration we took Cambria to the pumpkin patch at Tarrytown United Methodist Church.  It was a bit picked over but we had not had a chance to go before then.  Cambria had also been sleeping right before we got there so she looks a bit dazed in the pictures.

I also took some pictures of the nursery.  I realized I had never posted any!  Enjoy!

Helping Daddy study

My favorite things in Cambria's nursery are the two "T" wall hangings.  This one (with the buttons) was made by Sarah and Claire.

This "T" was made by Amber K.  We added Cambria's name once we knew who she was.

My mom graciously made Cambria's bedding and drapes!

3 month photo shoot

Hillarry Pittsenbargar owns Silver Bee Photography.  She did our maternity and newborn photos and we have loved them!  She also offers a first year milestones package where she takes pictures at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months.  We couldn't resist!  Here are the pictures from her 3 month shoot...

Oma's 90th Birthday!!

The whole family on Saturday evening - missing Reid and Nick (Breanna's husband) who both had to work

On October 28th my Oma turned 90!!  The weekend before we had a big celebration.  Saturday we had an open house for tons of her friends.  All of the family was there except Reid because he had to work.  Vince and I slept on an air mattress in Oma's living room that night and we all got up to go to church with her.  Sunday we had a family lunch at Maggiano's.  Steven, Heidi, and the kids even drove in for the lunch.  Jason and Amber were at a car race so they missed out on the yummy food.  It was so fun to have the whole family together!  Chelsea's little girl, Tinsley, was born 2 weeks after Cambria.  She is so beautiful and it was so fun to watch them check each other out.  It will be a blast once they're moving around and able to play with each other.

It was so wonderful to celebrate Oma's life.  She is such an amazing woman!!  From stories about growing up in Nazi occupied Holland, to raising 3 kids all around the world, to 50+ years of marriage, she is such an inspiration and never fails to get us laughing.  She is so loved and hopefully she felt some of that this weekend.  There are tons of pictures but I've tried to narrow them down - I promise!

Cambia with her "grand" Tante Anneke  - she says  it's not fair for my mom to be a grandmother and her to be a great aunt.  Grand aunt really does make more sense.

Most awesome cake by Michelle's Patisserie (same people who did our wedding cakes).  It was so stressful holding that as we drove through the hills on 1431.

It was really amazing!

Delicious food - my mom did a great job!!

Singing happy birthday

Aunt Brenda holding Cambria and Chelsea holding Tinsley.  The babies kept taking turns - one would nap while the other one watched then they would switch.

A rare moment with both babies awake

Ready to watch the Longhorns.  Unfortunately with the rain delay the only person who watched them was Daddy.  Everybody else went to bed!

On Cambria's 3 month birthday she got to meet her great Aunt Lenna and Uncle Bob.  They were in town from Oregon and came over to play with her for a bit before bedtime.  They gave Cambria and adorable stuffed bunny and got in a few smiles and snuggles.  Once we started the bedtime routine Uncle Bob headed to Phil's Ice House to pick up some yummy burgers.  It was great to see Cambria with them and to have a chance to catch up!

Mack always thinks everyone comes over for him

Uncle Bob didn't want to "break" her by holding her but did want to sit next to her and play a bit

Month #3

Cambria is 3 months old!!!  We really seem to be getting into a routine and she is discovering new things every day.  Here are some "milestones" from this month:

-Bedtime routine - we have one now!  We usually start about 6:30 with bathtime then PJ's and a feeding.  We finish up with prayers and she is usually in her crib by 7:15.  Some nights she will cry and others not so much.  When she does cry we let her do it for about 10 minutes then giver her a pacifier and she's out.  She will sleep 4-7 hours after that.  Toward the end of this month she's been pretty consistent with the 7 hours and usually only wakes up once (around 3 am) for a feeding.  She wakes up between 7 and 8 in the morning so happy!!!  On October 16th she was asleep by 7:30 and didn't wake up until 6:00!

-Talking - she is talking so much more!  She likes to lay in her pack and play and "talk" to the hedgehog mobile.  Her bouncer/swing also has little Minnie Mouses above her and she loves to sit in there and smile and talk to them. She will turn her head and upper body to face them.  It's hilarious! She is now carrying on little "conversations" with us.  She is most talkative first thing in the morning and when Vince gets home from work.

-Tummy time and rolling - she still has mixed feelings about tummy time but is holding her head up more and starting to push up, especially when she is on the changing table or in the Boppy pillow.  She also likes it more when we read books.  About halfway through the month Cambria began rolling to her sides.  She now likes to sleep on her side (especially the left) and will work to get comfy once she goes down for the night.  On October 23rd we woke up to her asleep on her tummy!  That same day I watched her roll from back to tummy twice.  She hasn't done it since but she loves chilling on her side.

-Feeding - hasn't changed much.  She still eats every 2.5-3.5 hours during the day and goes much longer at nights.  She's not a huge fan of bottles but will take them if she has to.  She's also starting to eat longer during her last feeding before bed which seems to help her sleep longer.  We think she's about 12 pounds now.

-Other stuff - She's getting more used to sitting in the bouncer and watching me cook or get ready in the morning.  She is really focusing on things - books, people, some toys, Mack, etc.  Her favorite book is "Peek a Who" and she likes to make the "ooo" noise!  Cambria is really interested in her hands and starting to suck on her fingers more.  She loves the cooler weather and going on walks.  When we walk with her in a carrier she is super attentive at first and then usually falls asleep by the end which is a nice trick to know.  Her eyes are still looking blue and have continued to get a bit lighter.  Her hair is getting longer and still seems to be sort of strawberry blonde to auburn brown.

This month has been a busy one but Cambria seems to be so adaptable and we are incredibly aware of how blessed we are to have such an easy baby.  God has been so faithful and we are so in love!!!

Early mornings are still the best time

Sometimes she's not so sure about tummy time

3 months!

I tried to take the pictures when Vince was at work but could not get smiles out of her - the camera was too distracting.

We tried some more when Vince got home and Mack had to help too

Of course she smiled when the boys were helping.  Here she is smiling at Mack.
