The museum is a collection of homes and businesses from the last 100-150 years from around the area. It was so interesting to see how people lived and the influence of fishing on so much of what they did. They even had people working in some of the businesses like the cleaners, sail making, barrel making, etc. Many of them spoke some English and were able to teach us a lot. It was a beautiful museum.
After we had a nice lunch there and looked around a bit more we went to the house of one of John's friends, Jan. Jan (you pronounce it "yawn") gives walking tours of the town and knows so much about the history of everything. He has health problems and rides on an e-bike. It was so incredibly interesting and we learned so much about the country.
When we finished with the tour we sat out on a terrace and had a few drinks and watched people. John seems to know everyone so it was quite entertaining. When Vicky got off work she met us and the four of us went to a nice dinner. It was a great chance to get to know each other a bit better considering we had only spent a few hours together in the previous times we have been together. We finished the night at The Dubliner, a pub where John plays sometimes and they know the owner. There were two young guys playing guitar and singing and it was such a nice, relaxing end to the day.
